Noren · Privacy
Privacy Policy
What Noren does: it shows every sento (public bath) in Tokyo with its hours, and lets you collect a cat stamp at each one you visit. Everything stays on your iPhone, except photos you choose to send us.
1. Location
If you allow location access, your position is used only on your iPhone, while the app is open: to show the sento around you, to estimate walking times, and to confirm you are at a sento when you collect its stamp. It is never stored on our side or sent to us.
2. Your bath journal
Your visits, notes, favorites and stamps are stored only on your iPhone. Noren has no account and no server. If you export a backup, the file goes where you choose to save it.
3. Map and search
The map, place search and walking directions use Apple Maps. Search text and map requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, without any Noren account.
4. Sharing
When you share a cat stamp, the image goes through the iOS share sheet to the app or person you pick. Nothing is shared automatically.
5. Share a photo
If you use Share a photo, your email, the photos and the name you give for the credit reach us by email. We use them only to add photos to Noren, credited, and delete what we don't use.
6. No tracking
No ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. Apart from what you choose to send with Share a photo, we do not collect any personal data, and we never sell or share it.
7. Deleting your data
Delete a bath from your journal at any time. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
8. Changes
If anything changes, we will update this page.
